The Purpose & Goal of DTI
Our passion to help believers grow to spiritual maturity, spiritual fruitfulness, and spiritual reproduction in Christ is knit together with our desire to be true to Scripture.
We believe that God has provided provision for every believer to grow from infancy to maturity in Christ so as to become a spiritual reproducer (disciple-maker).
The following three videos will provide an overview of the goals we seek to attain as we become faithful spiritual mentors.
What is spiritual maturity, and how do you quantify it? In the video you'll learn that spiritual maturity is the degree that God has been able to change your thinking to see life from His perspective. Spiritual maturity is not how well you're behaving or how many good things you're doing or how much of the Bible you're reading or how often you go to church or anything else. Spiritual maturity is how much do you see life from God's perspective. (Romans 12:1-2)
Spiritual Maturity (1:11 min.)
In John 15, Jesus is depicted as the vine and I as a Christian am the branch and the Holy Spirit produces the fruit. The main point is that the believer is simply a vessel or conduit through which the light flows.
Spirituall Fruitfulness (1:28 min.)
This lesson addresses the topic of how to grow new believers.
How does a new believer acquire spiritual understanding? In our discipleship workshops we ask the question to Christian leaders, “would you prefer to place a new believer in your congregation knowing that they were going to become like the typical person in your congregation?” How do you think they answer? What's your response?
